Samra Electric Power Company, a private shareholding company, established by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 20/04/2004 in implementation the Council of Ministers decision in its session held on 26/08/2003 to establish a company that undertakes electrical yearsactivity and is wholly owned by the government with a capital of 51 Million Jordanian Dinars.
Since the beginning of its establishment, the company has developed the latest technology in the field of electric power generation, where Samra Station was established in Al-Hashimiyya on the combined cycle principle and with a nominal capacity of 1241 megawatts. It was assigned to manage, maintain and operate the 5 renewable energy projects owned by the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with a nominal capacity of about 241 Megawatts.
Al-Samra was keen to raise the efficiency of institutional performance, which culminated in obtaining many quality and environment certificates and various awards. It employs about 350-400 employees.
